Welcome to another edition of our newsletter. Austrian Bernd Wiesberger claimed the throne of Scottish golf on Sunday with a dramatic playoff victory over Frenchman Benjamin Herbert at The Renaissance Club. In a strong Scottish Open field featuring the likes of Justin Thomas, Ricki Fowler and Rory McIlroy, no one could match Wiesberger and Herbert (who fired in a final round 62) as a playoff beckoned. Three holes it lasted as the pressure told on the Frenchman after scuppering two golden chances to win thus allowing Wiesberger to creep over the line with a simple par at the 18th. The win marks Wiesberger second victory of the year and sixth European Tour title. However, Herbert will get his chance for revenge as both players will take to the field in this week’s Open Championship in what promises to be a thrilling event at Royal Portrush. Enjoy! |
